BMS College of Engineering was established in the year 1946 in Bangalore, followed by the later BMS Evening College of Engineering was established. Keeping the growing demand for the technical education and keeping in view the noble objectives of furthering the cause of higher education cherished by the founders of the BMS Educational Trust, BMS Institute of Technology was started in the year 2002 at Yelahanka, Doddaballapura Main Road, Bangalore. 

BMSIT has successfully completed 13 years and it is a matter of great pride that the BMS Institute of Technology is recognized as one of the top colleges in the state of Karnataka. 

We are proud to inform you that our college has provided successful placements for all the Seven batches of students passed out till date.

University rank holders, national level projects, research endeavours, laurels in sports and high ranking in educational institution lists already manifest the journey that BMSIT has embarked upon.

Campus Facilities


BMSIT Library is housed in a spacious building, specially built for the purpose, covering a plinth area of 1500 sqm. We have a comprehensive collection of books in engineering and allied subjects catering to the needs of faculties, research scholars, staff and students. 

The stack room is housed in the ground floor and reference section in the first floor, each occupying 800 sqm. The library has more than 200 seating capacity. Ground floor is occupied with circulation counter, stack room, reprographic section, processing section, server room and Librarian’s chamber and first floor is occupied with technical journals/magazines, project / seminar reports section, discussion rooms, newspaper section, personal books reading room, language laboratory and internet browsing centre (provision for 80 seats). 

We have a total collection of 42,813 books in various disciplines. The collection is organized by using DDC (Dewey decimal classification) 22/e. We subscribe to 116 print journals and 7 on-line journal packages. The Library is fully automated using KOHA 3.18 library management software.
